Decorate your satchel with your name and a Harris Tweed pocket.
Jenny has pretty much the same taste as me, which means she loves satchels and Harris Tweed, so I decided to make her a tweed pocket bag with her name on it.

    Cut out the fabric leaving a 1/2" margin around the outside.

    Use a needle and thread to baste the edges over around the template.

    Remove the paper template.

    Sew around the outline with your sewing machine.

    Unpick the basting stitches.

    Stitch your label in place if you have one.

    It's now time to attach the pocket to your bag.

    Use fabric or leather glue to glue around the outline of your pocket

    Place the tweed on top and clip around the edges with small pegs until the glue has dried.

    Cut small x slits above where the buckles are and squeeze the buckles through.

    Carefully cut away the shape of the buckles from the tweed.

    Glue the tweed down around the buckles.

    If you want to add your name to the bag, lay the flap flat on your desk.

    Use an alphabet stencil to paint your initials in stamping ink on the bag.

    Dust with embossing powder.

    Shake off any excess dust before heating each letter with a heat gun.
