with bonus dragonfly
I was walking in the park and there was a cute turtle on a rock so I went to get a picture, and then later when I got it on the computer I saw the dragonfly.

Any tips for pet photography?
Some of my friends asked me if I could get some cute shots of their pets (mostly dogs, cats, birds). People are pretty easy to instruct and photograph, but I've never really worked with animals up close. It's been a struggle so far; dogs are easily distracted and keep wanting to lick everything in sight, and cats are just uninterested and uncooperative!

Does anybody have suggestions or tips for working with dogs who won't sit still and cats who will do everything but look at the camera?

I havn't done a lot of pet pictures, but the key is patience. For dogs you can play with them first to burn off some of the extra energy and then they tend to be more relaxed for some pictures. I like to get down to their level to so the camera is more focused on them them directly. I havn't really worked with cats, but I've seen people use some cat toys to get their attention to the camera. Hope that helps a little.
