Make sure the chain is staight and not twisted, then sl st into the backside of the 1st ch;

Row 2 - 8: ch 1, hdc in each st around and sl st to join; turn;

Finish off and hide you strings:

Fold together to make bow; Make a slip knot around where you bunched it and wrap around to cover the knot and make it look clean; You can make as small or large as you want it here;

Finish off and hide strings;
