start with a t-shirt that fits you 1-2 sizes too big.

cut it right under the sleeves to end up with a square or rectangle.

(at this point you may resize the tube top to make it as fitting as you like).if the shirt has a bottom hem already, you may thread the elastic by snipping a hole and using a pin.

now you should have a tube top. now take the extra fabric....

cut off the sleeves

and using one of the sleeves create a triangle shape. cut it out and make pleats if desired for a scrunchy look. don't worry it they are not perfect, that's kind of the point

now take your pleaded triangle....

then using the extra fabric cut our three long strips

now take these long strips and stretch them out and begin to braid ((make sure the braid can go around your neck and back down the center of the t-shirt)

now attach the bottom of the triangle to the center of your tube top.

thread your braid through the triangle and secure it. there you have it!!!!
