1. 

   

   Spray paint your branches.
   
   The branches I used were from my neighborhood and had already been broken or cut.

2. 

   

   Paint all your clay pots and let dry.




3. 

   

   Stuff your pots with newspaper but try not to let the newspaper go past the rim.
   
   The way I did it was I crumbled four balls and stuffed them in the pot so that there was a small whole in the center. That whole is what I used to put the "tree" in.
   
   Using newspaper is what worked best for me. It helps the tree stand straight and tall and keeps the centerpiece light weight and easier to transport.

   Cut the center of your foam plate and then cut the radius of that circle.

5. 

   

   try to fit your tree in between the slit you cut in the previous step. It doesnt matter if its a little uneven and not so smooth because in the end it will be covered.




6. 

   

   glue your tea light candles inside the rim of your clay pot.
   
   It is important to glue the candle (not like in the pic) but a little under the very top of the rim because it will sheild the candle from blowing out if wind should hit it.

7. 

   

   Now for decorating your tree.
   
   Get a string and cut about whatever length you would like. Fold it in half and glue the ends to the top of anything and you have an ornament.
   
   In this case I used clear fish tank stones.

   Glue flowers.
   
   

9. 

   

   Tea lights for the trees.
   
   Cut two pieces of string the same size. Fold the 1st string in half and glue one end to one side of the tea light, and the other end on the opposite side. Do the same with the 2nd string.
   
   Once the hanging strings are glued, than glue a decorative ribbon around the tea light to hide the glue marks.

10. 

    

    Last step you are going to want to glue one of your fish stones, marbles, are whatever they are called onto left over flowers. Then just lay your left over flowers under the candles. I used three flowers per pot and there were thirteen pots in total.

11. 

    

    Add the tea lights and there you have it a tree centerpiece.
