2 Bags in one *^_^*

I decided to turn an old boobtube into a bag. Being hello kitty, I didn't want to throw it away! I decided to turn it into something useful instead ^_^

I hand sewed my bag, but if you want yours made sooner, then you could use a sewing machine.

Instructions

  1. Step 1 1

Get all the bits n bobs you'll need together- in this case-

    Old boobtube
    Tea towel/ dish cloth
    2 Bag handles/ bangles
    Needle and thread
    Pins and ribbon...

  2. Step 2 2

The bottom of my boobtube had a tie at the waist. I cut these off.

  3. Step 3 3

Then I turned the boobtube inside out, pinned both of the right sides together, and sewed them. *Remove the pins after you have finished sewing* Leave this inside out, and place to one side.

  4. Step 4 4

Next, i got my tea towel/ dish cloth, folded it in half and pinned the bottom and sides. Leave the top open (think about how a pillowcase looks!) then I sewed these two sides.

  5. Step 5 5

After sewing, turn your tea towel/ dish cloth around, so that it is the correct way out.

  6. Step 6 6

Place your boobtube/ old t-shirt inside your tea towel/ dish cloth- like this.

  7. Step 7 7

Make sure that the bottom end of your boobtube/ t-shirt is touching the inside of the tea towel/ dish cloth. If your t-shirt is a bit too long (Like mine was in the above picture ^^ ) don't worry. Fold over the top edge of the t-shirt, to meet the top of your tea towel/ dish cloth. Pin into place and sew.

  8. Step 8 8

Fold your bag in half, length ways, to work out where to place your handles. Use pins to help you. I cut a slit into my boobtube (as my handles are round, then I sewed the fabric over, to close up the slit.) Repeat this for the other handle.

  9. Step 9 9

As everyone knows, Hello Kitty has a bow! I made a bow from some spotty Red and White ribbon, then sewed it onto Kitty. (Make sure you don't sew through both sides, now that your bag is reversible!)

  10. Step 10 10

The finished bag- one side Spotty...

  11. Step 11 11

Then turn it over to see Hello Kitty! Two bags made at the same time ^_^
