Love skirts? Love funky fashion? Can't find the perfect ankle-length skirt? I'm here to help!
I have several pair of stretchy flare jeans laying around but I hate pants; I'm a skirt girl! To further complicate things, I prefer ankle-length skirts for practicality as well as modesty. I'm 5'9" and a size 16 but I imagine this works for any size.

Take your jeans and rip out the inseams, but leave the outseams intact unless you want to flare the skirt on the sides rather than front/back. Flares in either place are also a great way to modify the size!

At this point, I cut out two big triangles, one for the front and one for the back. I also cut out a few rectangles for pockets. I made the pockets have a Velcro closure but buttons would work too.

Turn the jeans inside-out and sew one side of the leg to one side of the triangle face-to-face. Repeat this process until the skirt is closed all around.

Hem the bottom of the triangles, if you added them. Sew on the pockets and the Velcro.

Ahh the comfy, casual, funky long skirt of your dreams!
