Description

Instructions
  1. 1
    Step 1

Cut a length of wire long enough to fit around your head. Bend it in to a nice shape so that it will fit your head.

  2. 2
    Step 2

Curl up the sharp edges with some pliers.

  3. 3
    Step 3

Take a strip, twice the length of the last, of the thinner wire and starting at one end of the thick wire start wrapping the thin wire around and around until you reach the other end.

  4. 4
    Step 4

Take two more strips of thin wire, the same length as the last one, and attach them to each end. Wrap around for about 4 or 5 inches and then stop.

  5. 5
    Step 5

    Attach a bead.

  6. 6
    Step 6

Attach a few smaller beads and another type of bead.

  7. 7
    Step 7

Repeat the pattern back down and wrap the wire around the base a couple of times.

  8. 8
    Step 8

Repeat the previous pattern on the other side of the base. Remember symmetry is the key with tiaras. Then work a longer strip in various beads.

  9. 9
    Step 9

When the two long strips meet in the middle thread them both through one central bead (this should be that extra special bead).

  10. 10
    Step 10

From the center work another row of beads (I choose to do mine in a contrasting colour).

  11. 11
    Step 11

String the wire through a bead on either side to form a little arc of beads coming out from the middle.

  12. 12
    Step 12

Remember to keep the bead count and pattern even on either side.

  13. 13
    Step 13

Add more beads and work your way down from the top.

  14. 14
    Step 14

When you reach the bottom wrap the wire around the base a couple of times.

  15. 15
    Step 15

Thread the wire through the bottom bead of the string you just completed and work you way back up.

  16. 16
    Step 16

When you reach the top wrap the wire around the outside of the main bead a couple of times.

  17. 17
    Step 17

Work this thread down and wrap it through the bead (that is closer to the center) on the very first string you made. Wrap the remaining wire around the base until you reach the tiara end and wrap it off.

I wanted a Tiara when I got married, but they weren't easily available then. Plus my husband to be thought I was a little nuts - but maybe it was because I told him he would have to call me your heiness (sp?). Anyway, I really like this and am going to try to make this then I can wear it around the house whenever I want. THANK YOU

Aww.. wearing a tiara doesn't make you nuts but being nuts while wearing one does. Ha ha ha ha.. I'm glad you like it and I'm sure you'll look lovely doing the cleaning in a tiara. x
