  1. Step 1

    Step 1

i made mine 34 stitches wide of stocking stitch, and each section is 25 rows high. so row 50 knit or purl 2 stitches then make a one row button hole by casting off all but the last 2 stitches then casting them all back on again on the way back. continue stocking stitch for another 24 rows, then reverse the stocking stitch the last 50 rows.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

fold the fabric like so, and sew the sides and bottom of the central pocket.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

sew the outer sides together and you're ready to make the button.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

wrap a twisty tie round your little finger, then wrap it with wool, keep going until there's no hole in the centre

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

leave a loop in order to sew it onto the purse, you may want to knot around this loop as in the figure below

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

make a loop for the button hole repetedly single knot around the loop, you could finger knit this but i prefer this effect.

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

sew on the button in the right spot and you're done, unless you want to put a zip in one of the pockets, i haven't done that yet but it would be useful for the coins.
