Espeically for baking cupcakes!
 <  Image 1 of 4  >

I have begun an obsession with baking so decided to make an apron. I used 2 old skirts for this. It is hand sewn because I don't own a sewing machine.
On the pocket there is a cupcake, a spoon, a bag of sugar (it says sugar it's just too little), a baking tray and a bowl. I always free hand embroider too.

It took me several days to make this so I've not put a time.

  1. Step 1

Cut out peices from the old skirts. I used 8 rectangles for the apron part, 3 long and thin rectangles for the strap, 1 long and very thin rectangle for the strap tie and 1 rectangle for the pocket.

  2. Step 2

Attach all the pieces together, using pins to keep all the pieces in place, by creating seams.

  3. Step 3

Sew 4 rectangles together in a row, then the next 4 then sew the 8 together. Sew seams all around the 8 peices. When you get to the top remember to sew on the strap and strap tie on either side.

  4. Step 4

Embroider a pattern onto the pocket and sew the pocket onto the apron. It's easier if you sew a seam on the top of the pocket and then sew it onto the apron. Done!
