enjoy some '94 throwback style. i made mine from a thrifted Banana Republic pullover.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    lay your sweater out all flat like and cut straight up the center. try to stay in the same groove in the knit to minimize unraveling. also, be gentle! don't pull on the sweater at all once you've cut it.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    now, gently gently open up your sweater and pin down the cut part. now you're ready to sew.


  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    this part is the biggest pain. use a zig zag stitch to retain the stretch, and sew down your folded edges. if you're using a bulky knit sweater like mine, it'll like to snag and mess with your bobbin thread, so slow and steady wins the race. (sorry for the shoddy cell phone camera close up.)
