A lap quilt I made this Christmas for my Nana to keep over her knees as she wheels about. Mauve is her favourite colour can you tell? :) Tartan and knotwork applique' interspersed with color wheel blocks in cotton and velvet. Backed in super soft lavender fleece for extra warmth. Machine pieced and quilted. Also, if you saw the Tartan-y Goodness Bag, it IS the same knot. I am practicing it LOL.
P.S. If anyone is keen on a how-to for the machine applique specifically please let me know and I'll put it together! Also, it probably took more like 12 hours because the Color Wheel block is part paper pieced and I finished the binding by hand, but I can't figure out how to make the counter go above 9 hours.

wow! beautiful :-) I have no sewing skills what so ever lol. I tried to use a sewing machine on 3 seperate occassions and managed to break a needle every time :-s So yay! for people like you that can sew beautiful things!!
