  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Cut a t shirt in half vertically and just below half diagonally.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    Fold over and pin/tack stitch all raw edges so they are even and ready to sewn on the machine


  3. Step 3

    Put this to one side

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    Cut the material from the bottom of the original t shirt into 4 equal pieces (cutting in half and half again is usually easiest)


  5. Step 5

    You should now have 4 strips

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    Fold these strips in half and pin the longest edges together and sew

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

    Pin 2 pieces to either side of the t shirt, where the shrug would open

  8. Step 8

    Step 8

    Pin the left over strips to the bottom of the t shirt (the hem)

  9. Step 9

    Step 9

    Now sew

    And decorate!
