Change it everyday!
I just finished making this as a Christmas present for my friend. The idea enjoyed several reincarnations, all of which were viable (like using snaps or velcro instead of buttons), but this was how I made it.

  • How to make a long sleeved t-shirt. Switchable Tee - Step 1
    Step 1

I made three felt squares and decorated them. You can use other fabric, but I would recommend putting it all over felt, as it's more stable. If you want to use a different shape, that's fine, but I'd suggest using all the same one. Make as many as you want and use your imagination!

When you are making your patches, make sure they all match the buttons you'll use and the shirt. (They don't have to match the other patches though!)

    Step 3

To start the buttons, sew each one to a bit of felt. Place a book under in the shirt, so you can't sew the bottons through the back of the shirt. Then sew the bits of felt to the shirt. Be very careful when you place them so the patches will fit in the middle with out showing the button's felt bits.

    Step 4

Cut button holes in your patches (if you used felt, there is no need to sew up the edges).

Make sure the patches fit snugly in place on the buttons.

Wear proudly and change/updade whenever you want!
