Earrings made from a CD
Here's more CD jewelery! CDs are such an inexpensive, easy material to work with. You can make your triangular shape as large or as small as you want. These ones were under two inches.

  • How to make a pair of CD earrings. Swingy Cd Earrings - Step 1
    Step 1

First, you will need to draw your template shape. This is a triangle with a curved bottom edge. Hold the CD over the card board and trace a short length the curved edge. Draw the connecting lines, either freehand or with a ruler. Cut out the template.

Carefully hold the template down onto the CD, aligning the curved edges. Using the pen or pencil, trace two copies of the triangle shape. Carefully cut the two pieces out using the sharpest scissors you have. I used fabric shears.

Next, you will need to drill holes into the triangle pieces. Use caution, because the CD pieces want to slide around. I put a piece of card board underneath the shapes during the drilling. Firmly hold down the pieces and using the Dremel, carefully drill a hole into each piece near the top.

If this part seems confusing, just refer to the photos. I feel like I made it a little wordy.

Using the jewelery pliers, attach two jump rings together and thread them onto one end of each length of chain.

Attach another jump ring onto each of the ear hooks, and fasten these onto each of the chains. Attach the chains onto the CD pieces by threading the jump rings through the drilled holes. Make sure your jump rings are closed completely, and you're done!
