Each hat took about a week of knitting - about five hours each evening. I had to improvise a pattern since I couldn't find anything remotely like what I wanted to make. I still have kinks to work out. My sister wants me to make her an even longer one (the hats shown are roughly 32" long), so I'll try to improve the pattern when I make her hat!
