Super Mario Apron, Chef's Hat, & Gloven Mitts

My boyfriend loves Super Mario and we love to cook together, so I made him a character apron, chef's hat, and "gloven mitts" for Christmas. The apron is a simple pentagon with straps to hang around the neck. I top stitched the outlines of Mario's overalls and put a utility pocket onto the front of it. The chef's hat is basically a crown with a gathered rectangle sewn onto it and topped off with a circle. The mitts are made of fire and heat retardant quilted material. The finishing touches are done with red bias tape around the raw edges and black sesame shaped felt pieces to form the "reflections" on the knuckles.
