  • How to make a sleeping mask. Super Cute Panda Sleep Mask - Step 1
    Step 1

So this is my very first tutorial of my own! and I hope that it is easy to follow!
I needed an eye mask, but wanted to make my own since I love creating and had the supplies to do it! It is always more fun that way! So I hope that you love this mask as much as I do and my tutorial!

After gathering all of your supplies, take a piece of paper and use your pencil to sketch an eye mask shape, an eye and an ear. (the nose and the small white of the eye that you will need can be done last free-handed.)
After sketching. Cut out the shapes to use as a pattern.

<------- your patterns will look like this :)

    Step 2

Cut out your mask in white felt and then 2 pieces of satin, your choice on color. I used hot pink because I love Pink! pin the 3 together and then using a small zigzag pattern on the sewing machine or just hand sew, sew them together. (note: cutting satin is hard......is likes to move a lot.)

It will look like this. Then you can trim the satin edges to smooth it out a bit :)

    Step 4

Place your pieces that you cut for the ears, nose and eyes onto the eye mask to see how you want them placed. This is how mine looked. The white dots and the nose for the eyes just cut out little circles by hand.

Now grab your hot glue gun! and glue the eyes nose and ears on :) (photo courtesy of my amazing husband) hehe

    Step 6

Now cut the elastic to the length that you will need to go from the eye mask around your head and it be comfortable. So tight but not too tight, since elastic eventually stretches out. :) The double it over on the ends and do a zigzag stitch to secure it to the mask, and just do your back and forth sewing option to secure it even moar!

    You're finished!
Now go take a nap and use your super cute panda mask, because, "hey! Pandas make everything better!" <(0).(0)> I should know!

Hi Anne! I bought my Satin from Wal-Mart! I actually got like 2 yards and a little bit more in the remnant basket for like 2:50. I would check remnant baskets and such, also see you have a hancock fabrics there. I really like them. Wherever they sell fabric, you should be able to just cut a 1ft of it if you want, or 8 inches. All stores all minimum cut lengths, but they usually run small! I went to Jo-Anns when i first starting collecting stuff to sew and I really do not like Jo-Anns personally. They are very overpriced!

This is super cute! I think I'd make mine look like a teddy bear thoug ^_^ I have really bad allergies, so sometime I sleep with a cold gel eye mask when my eyes are itchy and puffy, I would be cute to stack them thoug just for the added cuteness lol.
