I was always afraid of making a pair of shorts, cause it seems to be so difficult.
but after a great summer with only one pair of shorts to wear, I decided to give it a try. It took me 3 evenings, so here is the result of my efforts ^^
I used a Burda easy fashion pattern (issue fall/summer 2009)

unfortunately, those shorts are way to complecated for me to put into a tutorial, sorry guys -.-
but you should check out http://www.burdastyle.com/ there are some nice, similar patterns and a lot of support if you get stuck.
