Based on Streampunk Custom Goggles by FrolleinKram
This was inspired by the many tutorials you can find on the net but for the most part this is my own version. I used a pair of welding goggles, enamel paint, sofa leather and cardboard.

This is the first specifically steampunk thing I have made and I LOVE them.

Not hard at all to make:

1) paint goggle eye bits with the paint
2) shape the cardboard (see http://brassgoggles.co.uk/blog/steampunk-resources/how-to-quick-costume-goggles for pattern)
3) cover cardboard ith leather using strong glue
4) stick it together
5) attach the straps (I used the strap that came with the goggles)
