Do you love strawberries? Do you love halloween? If so, i think this is perfect for you...:)
i decided to be a giant strawberry for halloween this year, and i was kind of doubtful that it would look like a strawberry, but when i finished i was so surprised! it looked a lot like a strawberry! and even more after i stuffed it with blankets. also very easy as long as you know how to sew.
it may look hard because of all the steps, but there is only a lot becaise i like to use a new box for every step.
BY THE WAY... steps 1-9 are for the costume, 10-16 are for the hair piece

i am waiting to get the picture of the costume all stuffed sent to me, so when i get it i will up load it:)

  • Step 1

First take your red fleece and lay it out on the floor or a table. take your marker or pen, and draw the outline of a strawberry. make sure it is big enough that it will fit you (since its a costume and not a plushie or something)

  • Step 2

once you're satisfied with your strawberry, fold your fabric in half with the side where you drew your outline on top. this is so both pieces are even, and because its a lot easier than drawing it again.

  • Step 3

    now cut out your strawberry

  • Step 4

now take your pen/marker and mark where your "head hole" and "arm holes" are going to be, also, leave a large hole at the bottom for your legs. now put pins in where you marked where your not going to sew (you dont have to do this, but if you do this its more noticable so you dont accidentally sew too far).

  • Step 5

now take out your needle and thread and start sewing around the edges
REMEMBER YOUR HEAD, ARM AND LEG HOLES!

  • Step 6

when your strawberry is sewed up, turn it inside out, and lay it down flat. take out your green fleece and start cutting out leaves. i cut out 1, then traced 3 more using the one i had already cut out, so that they wouldnt vary in size.

  • Step 7

take out your fabric glue and and set out your leaves the way you'd like. you can sew them on if you'd like but i glued them because i didnt have very much time.

  • Step 8

when your leaves on glued (or sewed) on take your white fabric and start cutting out seeds. an easy way of doing this is...

take a square piece of fabric and cut it into strips, then keep cutting off the ends to make tiny squares. then, using scissors, curve the edges to make little ovals.

  • Step 9

glue on all of your seeds, and your finished with your costume!!

READ ON IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOEW HOW TO MAKE THE HAIR PIECE TOO.

  • Step 10

take out your hair clip (the clips that hair dressers use to pin your hair back, or to keep curlers in work awesome beause the are flat and not curved)

  • Step 11

take out your green fleece and cut out a small circle. glue your circle onto the clip using the fabric glue.

  • Step 12

keep out your green fleece and cut out leaves, these leaves are smaller than the ones on the costume. glue them onto the small circle on your hair clip.

  • Step 13

now take your straw, skewer, or toothpick (i used the end of a balloon, it looks exactly like a think straw). you only need a piece about 5 inches long. set this aside for now.

  • Step 14

cut two pieces of of green fabric, a little longer that your straw (or whatever you used) and a tiny bit wider than your straw.

  • Step 15

now glue the straw in between the two pieces and glue it on the hair piece. the straw is there to help hold up the "stem" of your strawberry hair piece.

  • Step 16

your full strawberry costume is finished!!

REMEMBER WHEN YOU PUT IT ON TO STUFF IT WITH BLANKETS!!

    hope you liked this how-to:)
