Description

Some guys commented on my steampunk goggles version that they wanted a how to, so here it is...

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Take the eyepiece out of the goggles and keep these plus the strap.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Paint the eyepieces (front and back) with the gold enamel paint. Mine needed a few coats.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Cut out the cardboard using the template here:

    http://brassgoggles.co.uk/blog/steampunk-resources/how-to-quick-costume-goggles

(you will need to size them for the goggles you end up using)

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Cover the cardboard in leather, using as much as you need. I stuck it on with very strong glue.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Stick the eyepieces to the leather covered cardboard, find a way to attach the strap from the original welding goggles (I used two strips of leather) and enjoy!
