My first try at some steampunk jewellery, and I gave it away! No to make myself one... :)
Been wanting to try out making something Steampunk for a while and just sat down with my eBay baggies and got to it.

Cut out a bit of fake leather to fit your little mount. Stitch the cogs and watch parts on with an invisible thread and then glue the leather into the frame/mount charm.

That looks really great! I'd never have thought of sewing them on though, I'm trying to work out a way to solder them which looks good lol then maybe rivet the resulting mess - I mean mass (don't I???) - onto a leather project.

I can picture what you mean, solder the cogs into a design you like and then attach them to a leather project, but unless it involves a needle and thread I'm next to useless Happy

you could also do this by filling a bezel setting with the gears and set with resin/hardener. get gears from etsy.

that sounds like it'd work great. Think I chose to sew as it's what I'm comfortable with but I'd love to see your version with the resin setting Happy
