A bag made at the last minute at midnight and the sewing machine broke!
I wanted to make a squig bag to take our purchases home in because plastic bags break.
This was intended to be a drawstring bag, but is currently a sack due to the sewing machine breaking and the fabric being thick.
No pics because I took them this morning after gamesday yesterday!

  • Step 1

Cut out a rectangle of fabric.
Fold over and iron two flaps at the top to be the holes where the string goes.
Sew them across but leave the holes at each end open.

  • Step 2

Turn bag inside out and sew up the sides up to the holes.
    Turn the bag right-side out.
Attach a safety pin/bobby pin to one end of the cord and thread it through the holes. You can either loop it through and back to where you started and another the other way or loop it through, back to where you started then through that way again to the other side.
    This makes the straps.
I stopped here because the machine ran out of thread and I couldn't find any more at half-midnight.
To attach the straps to the bag sew diagonally across the bottom corners of the bag and cut a hole in each corner. Secure it so that it doesn't fray/rip, put the cord through and knot it.

    Step 3

With the fabric paint, paint on the eyes, nostrils and mouth.
    I forgot eyebrows.
When the paint is dry (I used a paintbrush to save on paint and make it thinner) cut out a tail and sew it on to the bottom of the bag. I didn't do this because of having to get up in 4 hours and the sewing machine.
