Knitting Pattern
After finishing my latest throw I followed the afghan square theme to create a set of cushions to accompany it.

  • Step 1

    The basics:
    Yarn – 4Ply:
    A Green
    B Pink
    C Purple
    D Black
    Needles – 4mm/US size 6 circular
    3 x Stitch Holders
    Stuffing: The Craft Factory – Supersoft Tot Filling
    Black Cotton
    Sewing Needle

  • Step 2

    With A: Cast on 60 placing stitch holders after every 20 stitches.

    Front:
    Row 1 – 28 : S1, K 19, P20, K20
    Join B – cut A and fix tightly to prevent unravelling
    Row 29 – 57 : S1, P19, K20, P20
    Join C – cut B and fix tightly to prevent unravelling
    Row 58 – 84 : S1, K19. P20, K20
    Join D – cut C and fix tightly to prevent unravelling

    Back:
    In garter stitch kit 84 rows Slipping the first stitch of each row

    Cast Off

  • Step 3

    Finishing:
    Turn piece inside out; folding the back over the RS of front.

    Using mattress stitch; sew 2 edges together.

    Turn piece with RS out and use stuffing to begin to shape sewed corners.

    Continue in mattress stitch in final side, adding to the stuffing to make sure the cushion keeps shape and is plump.
