It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a... balaclava?
Based on the "space helmet"/balaclava in knit.1 magazine's Fall issue of 2007, I created this funky chunky rainbow space helmet with crocheted silver medallions, and the simple linen-coloured one as well.

For the rainbow-coloured one, I used the following yarns: Moda Dea Cheerio (the silver color), and Caron Black Magic, which I believe is discontinued, in "Allspice." Any worsted weight yarn, give or take, should do.

These are so fun to make, and if you use wool, are extremely warm. If you use cotton or some light worsted acrylic, it can be perfect for a windy day in Texas.
