I needed a fairy costume for my daughter for tomorrow (eek!)so I customised a vest, whipped up this skirt and added wings and a wand to complete the ensemble. This skirt works well in many fabrics. ^_^

Measure your littlee's waist and add 1 1/2-2cm. Cut elastic to this length. Attach each end of the elastic to a safety pin and pin one to the skirt (so the elastic doesn't ping out of the other end!)
Make sure the elastic isn't twisted.
Feed the elastic through the channel and back out when you reach the end. Stitch the 2 ends of the elastic securely together, even out the gathers and sew the opening closed.
