Look smart with a DIY skinny tie.
You can use this technique for making any width of tie out of any fabric. For this project, I used a silky black fabric.<br><br>
If you are a school kid, you could try sewing a slightly wrong version of your school tie to confuse your teachers.. maybe that's a bad idea, but I wish that I had tried it.

You Will Need

Step 1Make yourself two templates, one of a large triangle (double the width you'd like your tie) and a smaller triange.

Step 2Draw the shapes out on to your fabric.

Step 3Use a ruler to extend the length of your triangles. Make the smaller half and larger half separately and draw out the triangles to a length that you are happy with.

Step 4Cut out the two shapes.

Step 5Decorate the front of the larger triangle if you want.

Step 6Pin up the two rough bottom edges of the larger triangle.

Step 7Sew along the bottom so that the edge is left nice and neat, repeat this with the smaller triangle.

Step 8Fold the ties in half so that the wrong side is facing the outside and pin along the sides.

Step 9Sew along the edges.

Step 10Fold in half and you're ready to face the town.
