use 1 cup baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar
pour the baking soda in first, followed by the vinegar.
It kinda explodes its way down, removing the gunk.
chase it with lemon juice to get rid of the icky smell.

or use my bf's method. Pour a cup of coke down.

I use that method on regular basis with my kids bathroom tub, which I learned from my mom. I don't usually pour anything down afterwards as far as smell. The baking soda takes care of that as well. But is a better fix than using store bought chemicals.
