Almost time to go back to school!
My daughter is heading off to first grade this year (*tear*) and they want all of the children to, essentially, bring "cookie-cutter" items that they will randomly distribute at a different time. No getting their very own anything except back pack. How boring! So I made her a cute little pencil bag for after they hand stuff back out. She may have the same white, clear cover binder as everyone else, but she'll have her own little unique pencil bag tucked inside!

mars f. - That's hilarious, whatever will he do getting to pick out his own outfits?! hehe
Heidel R. - "cookie-cutter" refers to everything being the same. i.e. when you use a cookie cutter to cut out cookie shapes, they're all essentially the exact same shape/size/etc.

very cute. My son has had to wear a uniform to school since kindergarten, the only self expression they get is thru shoes and backpacks but within guidelines ( no skulls, athletic teams, bands etc. )He goes to college next year and he is like gee Mom I finally get to dress myself lol.
