Delightfully Insane Straight Jacket!
This is an easy to make Straight Jacket. Perfect for a quick halloween costume...or just because it's pretty cool to have a straight jacket! XD

I hope my instruction are not too hard to follow. I did my best to explain what I did.

Have fun making this and remember to keep your insane side alive and well \../O.O\../

You will need:
1. A white, long sleeve, mens button-up shirt. Either cotton or a canvas like material. (I used cotton because I decided to hand sew this)Make sure the shirt big on you.

2. A second long sleeve mens shirt that is the same material as the first shirt (this shirt is for lengthening the sleeves)

3. 2 black belts. (I suggest using a thin belt so you can easily sew and cut it).

    Step 1

Lay your first white shirt face down with the arms spread out.

The front (side with the buttons) will end up being the back of your jacket.
Cut the sleeves off of your second shirt and lay them over the first shirts sleeves.
Try and match the width of part of the second shirts sleeve with the first shirts sleeve. (you are trying to lengthen the sleeves of shirt number one)

    Step 3

After cutting the pieces for both sleeves, you will turn the shirt and it's new sleeve pieces insid out and sew the new sleeve pieces to shirt number one's sleeves. Creating extra long sleeves!!

    Step 4

Turn your shirt right side out.

Cut one of your belts in half and place the end of one side into the end of one of your sleeves. Take the other half of your belt (the half witht the buckle) and place it into the end of the other sleeve.

    Now sew them closed.

    Step 5

Take your other belt and cut it in half. Cut off the buckle from this belt, you won't be needing it.

Sew one half along the top and the second half down the center of the shirt making a "T" shape.

ONLY SEW THE ENDS OF EACH SIDE TO THE SHIRT.

You are now done. If you want to take the extra step and and belts to the back you can do that too.

Otherwise to put it on all you have to do is un-button the back (or slip it over your head)

Then cross your arms through the center strap and wrap them around you.

Have someone buckle your sleeves together behind you (or tie them together to make it even tighter)

Go ahead and splatter some blood on there to really make you look insane!

you can see the buckle tied in the back

I hope you will upload pictures if you make your own version!!

I was wondering is there a way to make one in a way where I can put it on and take off by myself.
I so does anyone knows where I can find out? I've been looking for hours.
