Shirt Tee

Class up an old t-shirt by making it in to a shirt tee.

You Will Need

Description 


Instructions 
  1. 1
    Step 1

    For this project you will need a t-shirt and a shirt.


  2. 2
    Step 2

    Cut around the collar and button strip, leaving about an inch around the edge.


  3. 3
    Step 3

    Throw the rest of the shirt away or put in your scrap bucket.


  4. 4
    Step 4

    Pin the shirt collar and buttons to the t-shirt, pinning the lower part of the collar to the inside neckline of the t-shirt and pin the button strip down the front of the t-shirt.


  5. 5
    Step 5

    Unbutton the button strip and cut the t-shirt down the middle.


  6. 6
    Step 6

    Unstitch each side of the button strip and then take the edge of the t-shirt, fold it under and then stitch it on top of the button strip.


  7. 7
    Step 7

    Sew up each side of the button strip and around the collar until the shirt is firmly sewn to the tee.


  8. 8
    Step 8

    Trim off all the excess shirt and tee and it's ready to wear.

I love this idea soo much! However, and I think I may just be far too sleep deprived, but I'm not 100% sure about steps 6 and 7. Is the tshirt sewn above the button strip? Is it folded over somewhere that I didn't notice? Please let me know, I want to make a couple of these for work tomorrow!;] lol
