I had the idea for this but I'm not great with the sewing machine so had a bit of help from an online tutorial. My boyfriend was surprised to see that the shirts he thought he had sent to the charity shop were on the sofa!

Description

I had the idea for this but I'm not great with the sewing machine so had a bit of help from an online tutorial. My boyfriend was surprised to see that the shirts he thought he had sent to the charity shop were on the sofa!

Instructions

  1. Small img 1247

Button up the shirt, turn it inside out and lay it button side down so your looking at the back of it I recommend ironing the shirt first to make it easier to sew(I didn't but learnt my lesson!)

  2. Small img 1248

I used a cushion cover I already had to measure or measure your cushion pad and remember to leave extra fabric (about 1 inch) all around your square for the hem. Once you have the right size, cut it out of the shirt (remember to cut through the front and back of the shirt!)

  3. Small img 1249

Sew around all four edges. I'm not very neat with the sewing machine but it didn't seem to affect the end finish.

  4. Small img 1250

Undo the buttons and turn the cover right side out. Stuff in the cushion pad

Fasten the buttons.... And you're done! If your feeling inspired then add buttons, sequins, felt bits, a belt, or a pocket for the remote control! Hope you have found this inspiring from Happy Ever After Handmade xx
