Sea side mobile perfect for inside our outside
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

The thing that makes this tricky is that it can be hard to drill the holes in the shells. And be very careful! IT takes 2 hours because you can't rush through the drilling or the sawing, it is mostly easy, just the drilling is tricky.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Find shells. I used Oyster shells for this. There is a beach near by which has LOADS. Then I cleaned them.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Drill a hole close to the edge of each shell. Oyster shells can be very tuff!

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

For the support I used a nice, very even piece of drift wood from a beach. I saw it half.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

I then drilled a whole through the middle of one, which was to be the top one and out throught the bottom of the lower one and I popped a quite long screw in it so they held together.

You need a screw like the one I drew!

The left hand end of it show be at the bottom.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

In the lower piece of wood, either side of the centre, I put in small little hookes to hang the shells from.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    So, hard bits are done!

Okay, Now get your shells, and link them together with thin wire.

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

With the screw poking out at the bottom, wrap a bit of wire around it to hang the middle chain of shells from.

  8. Step 8

    Step 8

Attach the chains to their places.

  9. Step 9

    Step 9

At the top of the mobile, the top part of the screw, attach a piece of wire to it. Depending on the length of your screw, it may not be poking out the top, just feed it through.

  10. Step 10

Hopefully my directions are OKAY to follow. It isn't that complicated. :D
