Games People Played - Scrabble Bulletin Board
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

As part of my Games People Played series I've created Scrabble Tile Push Pins and Gameboard Bulletin Boards from discarded games. Most gameboards are made of a pressed cardboard and are ideal to use as a bulletin board - so get out there and experiment!

Don't have a Scrabble board? Scout out your neighborhood thrift store.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Drilling holes into the corners of the board will make it easier to nail to the wall. Drill holes slightly smaller than the nails you will use:

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

With a piece of sandpaper, scuff up the back of each tile and epoxy metal thumbtacks to the back:

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

This is what they should look like when you're done, be sure the tack is "embedded" into the epoxy:

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

When the epoxy has cured (overnight) nail your board to the wall and tack away:

I totally had this idea for an old Monopoly board I found in my closet, but didn't know if it would work out. Glad to know it works! :D

Would this work if I simply superglued the tacks to the tiles? The Scrabble game I have has plastic tiles, but I really, really want to do this. It looks absolutely fantastic!
