I wear my sarong this style(halter) with a belt and get asked where I bought it. I always say I made it.

first get your sarong or long peice of fabric
-
then take the two ends (of the longest end) in your hand and hold it behind you
under your armpits -
bow take one end and pull it over to the other side
let the corner hang on your shoulder -
now do the same with the other peice
-
take the two peices on your shoulder and pull them up towards the bck of your neck
then -
tie them into a knot
-
you can let it hang loose
-
or use a belt
now you are done
