Measure the diameter of your neck and add 2 inches. Buy a chain or necklace that length. If you are making your own necklace you will need jewelry pliers and a lobster clasp.

Add as many safety pins as you want. I like to buy packages of pins in different sizes. You can find pins in a variety of colors to match your chain. I prefer silver chain and safety pins.

After adding safety pins as desired you can add flair to your necklace by adding a brooch or pin. I love the look of an old cameo brooch on mine!
