Adorable Hand-Made Bracelet from safety pins!

This project is great for a rainy day. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it, really cheap, and looks fantastic! These bracelets make great gifts, too. So have fun, and be creative!

Don't be scared away by the 2 hours. Just put in a movie, listen to some music, or do it with a friend, and the time will fly by!

You Will Need

Project Cost
Almost Nothing

  1. 1

    Gather your materials!
    You will need:

Safety pins (a lot. at LEAST fifty. if you have a bigger wrist, get more.)
Stretchy String (as much as you need to go around your wrist twice.)
    Seed beads (again, a lot.)

  2. 2

Take a safety pin, open it. Easy. :) Take a seed bead and thread it on. Continue to do so until you get almost to the top. Leave a small space so you can close it.

  3. 3

And, close it! Your safety pin should look like this, with very little to no gaps.

  4. 4

Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have a significant amount of pins. (You will need a lot more than what I have shown.)

  5. 5

Now, it's stretchy string time! Measure your wrist, then cut 2 pieces that fit snugly around.

  6. 6

Now, begin to thread the safety pins onto the string. Make sure you switch the ends that you are threading every time, but keep the beads facing up.

You may find you need to make more beaded pins. Don't worry, just keep working hard!

  7. 7

Once you have almost completely filled the string, with the safety pins tightly against each other, it's time to tie it off! This is probably the hardest step, just because of the small amount of room you have to tie.

But once you get it tied, you should have a big loop of safety pins like this!

  8. 8

Repeat steps 6 and 7 to the other ends of the safety pins, then tie it off!

Voila! You now have a beautiful and one of a kind safety pin bracelet. Enjoy!
