This will give you a nice loose cast off to a project such as a shawl.

You Will Need

Step 1With knit side facing, knit 2 stitches as you would for a normal knitted cast off

Step 2... but instead of passing the first over the second and off the needle...

Step 3either slip both stitches back onto the left needle and knit them together through the back...

Step 4or I prefer to leave them on the right needle...

Step 5and insert the left needle through the front of these 2 stitches and knit them together (give the same result).

Step 6As normal cast off, make your stitch count up to 2 once again and repeat to the end of the row and you're done!
