Ruffled Front Top

T-Shirt Surgery: Turn two tees in to a ruffled front top.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Decorate a plain shirt over the shoulder/chest. Cut off the sleeves.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    Cut a strip from another tee, about 1" wide and as long as the edge of your neckline. Fold it in half lengthwise.


  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    Sew it on to your neckline with right sides facing.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    Cut another strip, about 2" wide and sew up the front, pleating as you go.


  5. Step 5

    Step 5

    Cut up the middle of the leftover fabric to make ties.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    Sew on the waistband from another shirt. Pinch it together under the ruffle and sew on a tab.

thats so cute! i love little ruffles, they remind me of adorable dresses i wore when i was tiny (six to be exact)! It actually looks very runway inspired, especially the little tab. ;)
