  1. Step 1

Firstly apply two even coats paint to your shoes. One coat, allow to dry and then a second coat.

  2. Step 2

Once dry apply a thick coat of glue and then shake over glitter. Keep going until all of the shoe is covered. Make sure you shake off the excess and cover up any bald patches!

Now why didn't I think of that? I got married this past october and wore ruby slippers down the aisle but I bought mine at a costume store since it was october and there were lots of the seasonal costume stores open. This would have been way more creative! Well Done :)

WOw Thanks!
I have gone through about 4 pairs of shop bought dorothy shoes already and then couldn't find them in shops after a while. So I though It would be far easier to just make my own!!! People are always coming out with the Wizard of Oz jokes, and a lot of people have been asking me recently where I bought them xx

What kind of glue did you use on the shoes?

Hi, it is just normal pva glue - but you could use any. You may want to think about varnishing them with like a spray varnish or hairspray or something because after a while glitter comes off... either that or just top them up again. good luck x
