    Step 1

Place the petroleum jelly in an microwave-safe dish.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Take a bright red lipstick and use a knife to cut off a couple of shavings. As the red is so bright, you will only need a tiny bit of lipstick to make a nice rosy colour.

Get your containers ready, you'll need to work quick in a minute. Place the petroleum jelly in the microwave and melt down, this should take around 3 minutes, but keep checking on it to see if it's working.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Add the lipstick shavings to the melted jelly.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Mix together until the lipstick dissolves.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

Add a drop of rose essence.

  7. Step 7

My lips always get sore in winter, so this has been keeping them really soft and I like the colour it makes them too!

Aww thanks for the compliment on the photos :D

Yeah, you can use any essence. I got the containers from Pound Land, they originally had sead beads in them but they were a bit rubbish and the top would fall off, so this is a far better use for them.

Hm have you tryed vaseline;; That I find also makes them a bit more softer.. instead of the Petroleum Jelly.. And also If you add A pink Lemonade Powdered drink mix instead of the essence oil.. it works wonderfully! Thanks for the inspiration!

if your skin is really dry, you could also use this as a cheek tint! But my skin is all oily, but i bet this is really pretty on someone's lips!
