I've made rosemary hair oil a zillion times, but this time, I decided to create something a little richer. Make this balm, and use it either on your hair or body!

Take about a cup of your delicious and nutritious extra virgin coconut oil and put it in your double boiler to melt. Once it has become a transparent liquid, dump your rosemary into the bowl making sure that the leaves are compeltely covered by the oil (add a bit more if needed). Let the mix sit for ten minutes.

Turn off your stove and using a small strainer, remove all the rosemary bits. Be careful- the oil is extremely hot! You can dispose of them, or leave them for another treat (which I will describe below). Pour the oil into a glass jar and leave it to sit overnight. Or, if you prefer, take a portion of the heated oil and use it as a hot oil treatment (leave in for a minimum of thirty minutes- more will do you even better!).

Once your oil has set, it should take up a balm-y like texture that melts in your hands. Use it in a number of ways:
- As an overnight treatment! Spread a generous amount throughout your hair and go to sleep for the night (you can cover it in a scarf or cap). Rinse as normal in the morning, and enjoy your lovely hair!
- As a leave in conditioner. Spread a dime size amount (or more, depending on the length of hair- use sparingly!) evenly through towel dried hair.
- Body oil. Makes an excellent and softening oil for your skin.
- Hot oil treatment. Warm up in the microwave until melted, then apply liberally.
- Hair masks. Add the balm to hair masks to give them an extra boost!

What to do with leftover bits of rosemary:
I like to throw mine in the food processor with a generous amount of EVOO. Blend until a paste is made.
I like to spread this all over my body as a mask, and leave it one for ten minutes either during the shower or before I shower. It makes my skin uber soft, and doesn't waste the rosemary.

This makes me miss my rosemary bush! I just found coconut oil and my skin is in love! I guess I'll have to grow myself a new rosemary bush so I can try this for myself, thanks for posting.
