I got inspired by this project to make myself a rose bookmark for my journal.

You Will Need

Step 1Draw/Print/paint a rose/any other flower onto stiff paper and cut out.
If you cant draw one, run a google search on rose drawing and use an image of a simple rose and trace it off your screen. [I put the paper onto my laptop screen and lightly traced the outline.]

Step 2Paint or draw and colour a leaf on the corner of an old envelope. Careful that you dont use the corner with the flap! Cut through both layers of the envelope.

Step 3Add glue to the corner of the leaf, on the top side [important!] I used white school glue.

Step 4Position the rose straight with leaf pointing downwards and glue them together. I positioned them like this so the rose would remain straight when I put it on the left or right page of my book.

Step 5This is how it will look from behind. If you want, you can make two roses with the same outline. Glue the leaf to one and then glue the second rose on so your bookmark will be two-sided. [I was too lazy to do this, obviously. I painted both sides of my leaf though.]
And you're done!
