I took a pair of jeans that still fit me nice, but didn't flatter me so well... I just cut them off mid-thigh and rolled them up 2-3 times depending on how sexy I want to look =). Then I took the very bottom cuff of my cut-off pant material and made a strap to keep the rolled up fabric in place. I sewed two old bronze buttons on each side of the shorts and cut a button hole in each of the straps. This allows me to have 2 different short lengths: One for working at camp with kids, the other for hot hot summer days with my friends!
