Cute retro-futurism.
I found this birdhouse at Michael's and couldn't resist buying it (I love rocket ships and retro-futurism). It was unsuitable as a real birdhouse so I decided to make it into a clock for my boyfriend for Christmas.

  • How to make a clock. Rocket Ship Clock - Step 1
    Step 1

Take your plain rocket and paint it however you want. Mine was supposed to be loosely Scott Pilgrim themed to go with the rest of the Christmas presents I made for my boyfriend. I wanted to tie the rocket in with Ramona's subspace bag so I chose really bright colors that reminded me of her.

  • Step 2

Once you've finished painting it take some foam (I luckily had some pink that matched my paint almost perfectly) and cut it so you can line the inside of the opening with it. Glue it on.

Once you're done with that pop your clock face in. Now when the batteries die you can easily remove the clock to replace them.

  • Step 4

After that make a star out of Sculpey. Bake the star then glue it to the top of your rocket.

All done! Now you have a super cute semi-retro rocket clock :D
