Meet Rob Fordgurumi, the crochet version of Mayor Rob Ford.

Instructions

  1. Head/Body With peach yarn and 3.75mm hook. Round 1: start 6 sc in magic ring. Or Ch 2 and 6 sc in second ch from hook. Round 2: inc in each st (12 sts) Round 3: [sc in next st, inc in next st] repeat 6 times (18 sts) Round 4: [sc in next 2 sts, inc in next st] repeat 6 times (24 sts) Round 5: [sc in next 3 sts, inc in next st] repeat 6 times (30 sts) Round 6 - 10: sc in all sts. Switch to white yarn. Round 11: [sc in next 2 sts, inc in next st] repeat 10 times (40 sts) Round 12: This round creates belly – sc in next 24 sts, [inc, sc in next 3 sts] repeat 4 times (44 sts) Round 13 - 19: sc in all sts. Round 20: sc in next 8 sts, dec, sc in next 10 sts, dec, sc in next 22 sts (42 sts) Switch to grey yarn. Round 21: sc in all sts. Round 22: [sc in next 5 sts, dec] repeat 6 times (36 sts) Round 23: [sc in next 4 sts, dec] repeat 6 times (30 sts) Round 24: [sc in next 3 sts, dec] repeat 6 times (24 sts) Start to stuff body. Round 25: [sc in next 2 sts, dec] repeat 6 times (18 sts) Round 26: sc in all sts. Round 27: [sc in next st, dec] repeat 6 times (12 sts) Continue stuff and to dec until closed. Fasten off and weave in ends.

    Legs/Feet Make 2 With black yarn and 3.00mm hook. Round 1: sc 4 in ring. Round 2: inc in each st (8 sts) Round 3 - 4: sc in all sts. Switch to grey yarn. Round 5: sc in all sts. Switch to 3.75mm hook. Round 6: [sc in next st, inc in next st] repeat 4 times (12 sts) Round 7: sc in all sts. Round 8: [sc in next st, inc in next st] repeat 6 times (18 sts) Round 9: sc in all sts. Fasten off and weave in ends. Make the second leg but DO NOT fasten off. Join legs together by pulling working loop through first stitch on the fastened off leg as indicated in photo. Place marker and crochet around for 2 rounds on both legs. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew legs onto body so that they are aligned with belly (front).

    Hands/Arms Make 2 With peach yarn and 3.00mm hook. Round 1: sc 4 in ring. Round 2: inc in each st (8 sts) Round 3 - 4: sc in all sts. Switch to 3.75mm hook and grey yarn. Round 4 - 11: sc in all sts. Option to stuff arms. Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.

  4. Jacket With grey yarn and 3.75mm hook. Round 1: ch 41, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across and turn (40 sts) Round 2 – 14: ch 1 and sc across (40 sts) Once finished, attach top corners approx. 4 sts across and 2 rows down to form jacket lapels.

    Tie With red yarn and 3.00mm hook. Round 1: ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn (2 sts) Round 2: ch 1, skip 1st st, sc across (1 st) Round 3: ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch back to top. Fasten off. Wrap a bit of yarn where tie knot would be and attach to body.
