Something a little different...
I made this as part of Dollar Store Project Accessory Challenge at Dollar Store Crafts.

It is meant to not only be a fashion accessory, but to take off and use as a roadway for toy cars (posted just prior to this post toy cars with removable cars from pin backs) to keep a young boy occupied when going to the Doctor's office, relative's house, etc to keep them entertained then easily.

  • How to make a neck warmer. Roadway Scarf - Step 1
    Step 1

I turned the t-shirt inside out and drew the shape on the t-shirt - the length is 20 inches from the shoulder to the bottom of the track and the track is 2 1/2 inches wide.

(Not pictured) - I continued around on the shape around the neck and only cut through one layer of fabric.

  • Step 2

Pin the track on the back side of the fabric and cut out.

    Step 3

With right sides out on the fabric on each side, pin the track together and sew around outside edge then the inside edge 1/4 inch from the edge.

Paint yellow stripes down the center approximately 1/2 inch long. On one side I chose to put a solid line next to this for a "no passing zone" but that is optional.
