I've made sets like these, both on river stones and crystals. The plain types are best (my favourite was on obsidian) as it's a lot easier to see the rune on a single-colour crystal.

The engraving is quite easy, best thing to use is the flexible extension you can get for them, makes it more like holding a thick pen than a mini drill. I used diamond bits on mine but good engraving ones work too. Just be sure to have a few spare stones in case some go wrong, as they inevitably do when I'm doing them Happy

These are amazing! I'm thinknig about making a set for my friend Adam [who is also the High Priest in my coven] because he is really into Runes.

I want to do them on lapis lazuli because that is our coven stone, but a]I don't have an etching tool b]he already has a set [but I'm thinking if I do make it, I will give it to him as our coven set] c]Even if i HAD a dremel thing, I would be horrible with it, I'm way to used to pencils and pens and fanally d] I would fail greatly in comparison to these, so when i finally DID make them somehow, I would feel that they are crap, and I wouldn't give them to him, and it would be a huge big mess

Thanks Happy It's not so much hard to do as having a steady hand while doing it. I find I can do about five then have to stop for a bit to rest the hand from gripping the dremel.

these are awesome! is it hard to do the etchings though? I've never really used a rotary tool before.
