Because I'm too cheap to spend $17 on a lower quality one ^_^
I saw a headband like this in the jewellery chain store Diva. After trying it on, I established that it was very cute but I refused to fork out the $17 on it. I instead went down to Spotlight (craft store) and picked up a 24 pack of pink foam roses for $6, a metre of black elastic for $2.30 and a hot glue gun for $12. Spent just over $17 and now own a hot glue gun, a surplus of adorable roses to use at my leisure, extra elastic and a cute little headband I am proud of.

The real kicker? My roses are prettier than the ones from Diva ^_^

I don't think any of you super crafty guys need this, but I shall give a brief rundown of the method anyway! Stretched the elastic comfortably around my head, sewed it nice and tight together into a loop and then hot glued the middle rose on the seam, followed by the left and the right roses. I'd suggest marking the elastic where you want the roses because they might end up the slightest bit uneven like mine (hope you guys can't tell!). It was my first time using a hot glue gun, I now realise that there is only one chance to get things right before it's permanent, hehe. I hope you guys like it ^_^

You're so right. Why pay this much when you can get a one of a kind headband at a fraction of the price?

This is very cute =]

Just wanted to let you know though-- you said that there is only one chance to get something right before it's permanent. If you want to remove / shift something after the glue has cooled, you can heat up a needle in a flame (wear gloves or use tweezers for this), and then slide it under what you want to remove. You'll still have some glue residue, but you can peel that away / cover it up.
